Pursuant to the provisions of the General Laws, Chapter 31, Section 29 and the revised Ordinances of the City of Methuen, Section 6-23, the Mayor announces the following vacancy :
General Statement of Duties : Reporting to the Director of Public Health, the incumbent holds the pivotal role of overseeing the City's Building Division, ensuring its effective administration while adhering to pertinent city, state, and federal regulations concerning zoning, building, gas, plumbing, and electrical inspection and permitting services.
The incumbent will work with the ADA / Diversity Coordinator for all public issues related to local, state, and federal regulations and will work in conjunction with the Employee ADA / Diversity Coordinator on objectives and directives from the Disability Commission.
Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to building construction and / or design plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in building construction / design or equivalent education and experience.
Certified Building Commissioner or ability to obtain certification within eighteen (18) months. Certified for Weights and Measures (MA).
Must possess a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Bilingual preferred.
