About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Job Specialty : Oncology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 06 : 30 PM - 07 : 00 AM Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 1 year License : Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS);

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemo certification preferred Must-Have : Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision Job Description : Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Adapt to work in a stressful environment and exercise critical judgment.- Utilize personal protective equipment as required, following standard precautions.
  • Work in a 28-bed unit serving medical, oncology, and end-of-life patients with telemetry capability.- Handle a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 5-6, supported by Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator.
  • Utilize virtual sitter monitoring and monitor technicians for patients on telemetry.
