We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Clinical Lab Scientist to join our dedicated team.
Position : Clinical Lab Scientist
What You'll Do : As a Clinical Lab Scientist, you will perform clinical laboratory procedures for inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
Responsibilities include testing and analyzing biological specimens, quality control, instrument maintenance, and phlebotomy.
What We're Looking For :
Experience :
1 year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist preferred.
Skills :
- Technical competence in laboratory procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Medical Technology, or a related science.
- Minimum 12 hours of continuing education per year to meet licensure requirements.
Licensures / Certification
- Current and valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
- LA City Fire Card certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Specific Responsibilities :
- Perform tests according to established procedures and understand their relevance to diagnosis and health monitoring
- Conduct quality control procedures as per laboratory protocol
- Maintain equipment and report deviations to the supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- Troubleshoot equipment and test systems
- Assist with phlebotomy, specimen processing, and phone inquiries
- Train new personnel as required
- Utilize LIS / HIS computer systems for workload management and patient report generation
- Prioritize workload to minimize turnaround times
- Maintain current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population's age
- Respect patient rights and communicate appropriately for the patient’s developmental stage
- Maintain clinical skills specific to the patient’s age
