What You'll Do :

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Team Info :

The Capital One Security Technology team is responsible for overseeing various applications integral to enterprise safety and security.

This encompassing domain includes products related to access control monitoring, video surveillance, bank security, alarms, and the overall safety of personnel across our people centers and retail branches.

Our operational support extends to locations in the US, Canada, UK, Philippines, India, and globally. The team adeptly manages COTS applications and oversees products hosted in-house within our AWS environment.

A core focus is on ensuring that our systems remain current, meeting the expectations of our business, and upholding the highest standards of security

Basic Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 8 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 4 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• At least 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
• At least 4 years of experience in people management

Preferred Qualifications :

• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering experience
• 6+ experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby)
• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation and delivery
• 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools (Splunk or Zabbix)
• 3+ years of experience with Container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
• 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site) : $234,700 - $267,900 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI).

Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
