function that is responsible for supporting the needs of a commodity. In addition, this role is a learning ground for strategic thinking and building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Organize the purchase execution through experience with ERP / MRP Systems with PO placement and confirmation.
  • Analyze MRP exception reports (pull, push, cancel) and reschedule previously released orders to respond to changes in the Master Production Schedule or customer demand.
  • Verifies demand and compares standard cost / quoted job cost to the supplier pricing. Mitigates price increases, negotiates price decreases.
  • Expedites material from suppliers to meet the master production plan.
  • Maintain material due dates for upcoming and past due needs.
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered and resolves shipment discrepancies from suppliers.
  • Comply with Company SOP’s.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of inventory control, purchasing and manufacturing / production planning.
  • Learning experience in an MRP system
  • Willingness to learn how to negotiate and build relationships with suppliers
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with a team / Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Assertive, multi-tasking, team player capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of work experience and education preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 years of work experience in Purchasing and / or Material Planning Management, preferably in manufacturing
