Job Summary
Adhere by the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) policies and procedures as it relates to OBSERVING & RECORDING testing for skills for nursing assistants in the State of Utah.
Each Registered Nurse must be in good standing with the Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing (DOPL) and observe and record each examinees performed skills.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties 1. Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah in good standing.
2. Must have at least one year experience in the provision of long term care facility services OR caring for the elderly / chronically ill of any age.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah in good standing.
At least one year experience in the provision of long term care facility services OR caring for the elderly / chronically ill of any age.
Completion of UNAR Skills Observer approval packet PRIOR to official hiring and before start date.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
Registered Nurse with experience testing nursing assistants.
Registered Nurse already approved by UNAR to be a Skills Observer.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 1. Must be able to be punctual and set up / clean the testing room at the beginning / ending of their shift in order for the testing room to be conducive of testing.
2. Must be able to use TMU to successfully observe each examinee and submit test information at the end of each shift.
3. Must be able to clean and put all testing materials and equipment back in place after each examinee.
4. Must be able to provide availability of dates at least 1-3 months in advance to allow for students to schedule testing dates.
5. Performs skills competency evaluations for nursing assistant certification.
6. Must follow all federal regulations, state rules, and UNAR policies and procedures.
7. Must be trained and found competent by the UNAR State Skills Examiner Specialist prior to any testing.
8. Must attend all required skills training conferences required by UNAR.
9. Performs other related duties as requested by Salt Lake Community College and the office of UNAR.
10. Must have outstanding customer service manners / skills to serve our diverse population.
11. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties 1. Must be able to travel to other testing sites and travel to UNAR conferences as required.
2. This position requires weekly evening testing on Mondays and Wednesdays.
