Position : Virtual Sign Language Interpreter

Location : New Mexico (Remote)

Employment Type : Full-Time

Certification Required : EIPA Score of 4.0 or higher

Your Role :

As a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter with VocoVision, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, educators, and support staff.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Providing virtual sign language interpretation services during instructional sessions, meetings, and other school activities.
  • Ensuring accurate and effective communication between students and others in the educational environment.
  • Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to support the academic and social success of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Utilizing our Virtual Toolkit and resources to enhance interpretation services and support student learning.
  • Documenting interpretation sessions and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations and school policies.

Qualifications :

  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with a minimum EIPA score of 4.0.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and proficiency in English.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a sign language interpreter, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
