HN243 - Full-Time Live-Out Nanny/Family Assistant - San Francisco, CA

Overview

A family in the Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco, CA (easy parking) is seeking a wonderful full-time live-out nanny / family assistant for their two children ages 4.

5 and 7.5; they are in school full-time. The role begins the end of August or September. The schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7 : 30am-5 : 30pm;

Thursday 2pm-9pm; and Friday 2pm-5pm. The annual schedule for this role will be known in advance, but will adjust at times on an academic semester basis.

Responsibilities

Driving children (nanny can use own car and will be reimbursed for gas mileage or the family will provide a car. All of the children's activities are contained to the northern part of the city;

the school is a 6-minute drive from the home, etc.)

• Homework help
• Managing children's schedules / activities
• Errands
• Refrigerator and pantry management
• Grocery shopping
• Meal prep and cooking of simple, healthy meals for the family (they are not seeking gourmet cooking, but they also don't have the children eat hot dogs and macaroni and cheese either;

the meals would be things such as roasted chicken or pesto ravioli, etc.)

• Light housekeeping (emptying the dishwasher) and general tidying; the family has a housekeeper who comes 3x / week and does the deep cleaning and the laundry for the family
• Organizational projects
• Occasional pet care for two cats (candidate must not be allergic to cats and like pets)
• The ability to stay overnight during the week (Mondays or Tuesdays) during the academic school year if both parents are out of town.

Family will ask the candidate to hire to "hold" either a Monday or Tuesday night during the week for the school year in case they do need the nanny to stay with the children.

Qualifications

• The ability to speak Spanish is a plus
• The ability to manage housekeeper is a plus
• The ability to travel with the family is a plus (for example, a few weeks in Europe over the summer or 10 days somewhere international over Christmas)
• Someone who is comfortable with the outdoors and pets (family has 2 cats at their regular residence and little ponies at their ranch in Petaluma)

Requirements

• Must be a licensed driver with a clean driving record
• Must be non-allergic to cats and like pets
• Must be able to travel to the family's ranch in Petaluma during the summer as this is where the family resides during that season (summer hours are more flexible / don't require overnights and the schedule can be mutually agreed upon with guaranteed hours)
• Must be able to do an occasional 1x / week overnight during the academic school year (Monday or Tuesday nights "on hold" if the family needs overnight care;

the family will know 1 year out what day of the week they would need the nanny to have which day of the week on hold for them)

A candidate who resides in the Marin area is most ideal; Oakland, East Bay or Menlo Park, etc. won't work for commute purposes.

A candidate who resides in San Francisco or Marin area (I.E. Novato) is ideal for this role.

Salary and Benefits

• Hourly rate is $45+ depending on experience
• Healthcare stipend of $400 / monthly
• Guarantee pay for 40 hours a week and overtime as applicable by law
• 5 days of paid sick leave
• 10 vacation days (1 of those weeks to overlap with the family's vacation time)
