Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Data Management Data Science Intern to join our team for a 3-month internship.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Computer Science major to gain hands-on experience in clinical data management and data science within a dynamic CRO for biopharmaceutical environment.
The intern will work closely with our data managers and data scientist to support various projects aimed at enhancing our data systems and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
Development of AI / ML-Enabled User Acceptance Testing (UAT) :
o Designs and implements AI / ML solutions for automating UAT processes in clinical data management
o Develops, tests, and validates UAT scripts to ensure data systems meet specified requirements
o Analyzes and optimizes UAT results to improve accuracy and efficiency
UAT Scripts Development :
o Creates and maintains UAT scripts to automate testing of clinical data management systems.
o Ensures comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements in UAT scripts
o Integrates UAT scripts into the testing framework
Protocol to eCRF / EDC Database Automation :
o Assists in the automation of processes for transitioning from PDF protocols to electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) databases
o Develops tools and scripts to streamline the conversion and integration of clinical protocols into digital formats
o Works on improving data capture workflows to enhance data quality and efficiency
Project Support :
o Documents methodologies, processes, and results in technical reports
o Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into clinical workflows
o Participates in meetings and presents findings to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and libraries
- Basic understanding of database systems and SQL
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Interest in the healthcare or clinical research industry is a plus
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Experience with clinical data management systems or EHR systems
- Knowledge of AI / ML techniques and their applications in UAT
- Familiarity with eCRF and EDC systems
- Understanding of clinical research protocols and data capture methodologies
