KSS Immersion Schools is a growing education company whose mission is to bring its world class language immersion programs to as many families as possible. KSS currently has three programs; Shu Ren International School, KSS Immersion Preschools in the Bay Area, and Green Ivy Schools in New York.
Responsibilities
YOUR ROLE AS A SCHOOL PORTER
As a School Porter at one or more of our East Bay locations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning and maintenance of the school facilities. Your responsibilities will include various tasks related to cleanliness, support, organization, and general upkeep, contributing to a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for our students, staff, and visitors. WHAT YOU WILL DO
General :
- Daily Cleaning & Maintenance
- Sweep, mop, and spot-clean hallways, classrooms, and common areas as needed
- Keep the main entrance, lobby, and waiting areas tidy
- Clean and restock restrooms regularly, ensuring soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are available
- Check and empty trash bins throughout the day, replacing liners as needed
- Clean up spills promptly to maintain a safe environment
- Address any unexpected messes or maintenance needs (e.g., leaks, stains, or broken items)
Support During and After School
Assist with setting up and breaking down spaces for special events, meetings, or assembliesSupport teachers by responding to quick maintenance or cleanup requestsHandle deliveries, move items, and organize supplies when neededCommunication & Safety :
Communicate promptly with the Director of Plant Operations regarding any maintenance issues that require attentionMaintain awareness of safety protocols, ensuring that exits and pathways are always clearBe visible and approachable to staff and students, providing a friendly and supportive presenceAdditional Duties :
Perform light handyman tasks like tightening loose fixtures or replacing light bulbsAssist with (or perform) minor repairsAssist with monitoring and restocking supplies in the staff kitchen / pantry areaBenefits
