After School Program Director

As a School Program Staff member at our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic success and holistic development of vulnerable youth.
Collaborating closely with various stakeholders, including Multiple County Children Services, school personnel, parents, and caseworkers, you will work to build relationships and provide essential educational support to students facing diverse challenges.
Duties :
- Encourage student development of academic, attendance, and behavioral goals.
- Provide consultation to facilitate decision-making activities involving parents / guardians / foster parents, students, and staff.
- Facilitate customized education plans and supportive services for students to help them pursue their goals effectively.
- Coordinate with child custodial county to ensure enrollment and attend all Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Correspond daily with schools and maintain communication with the administrative director.
- Attend weekly staff meetings, case consultations, and all meetings related to youth.
- Ensure educational materials align with each child's needs prior to school enrollment.
- Coordinate transition processes for students entering or leaving the program.
- Act as a referral / resource agent for caseworkers, foster parents, and others involved in the educational success of referred youth.
- Provide timely feedback on student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Attend review meetings regarding students' educational needs as required.
- Facilitate Strength Based Social Emotional Learning assessments for students.
Skills :
Required : Bachelor's degree in Education or Social Work; experience in an educational or youth services setting; excellent communication and documentation skills;
proficiency in Office 365; understanding of educational rights and requirements.
Preferred : Experience in education administration, higher education teaching, or working with university students.
Working Conditions :
This role involves virtual advocacy via Zoom as well as in-person educational support. Candidates must be able to travel to school locations and children's services as needed.
Salary :
Commensurate with experience and aligned with the specified salary schedule.
Reporting Structure :
This position reports to the Administrative Director or Executive Director.
