POSITION SUMMARY : HVAC and Controls Technician is responsible for overseeing and maintaining Thorne HVAC equipment and building automation systems (BAS) to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, can compliant operation. This position both performs and oversees skilled, advanced-level duties of inspection, repair, maintenance, and installation of HVAC equipment and controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and / or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.

• Operates, maintains, installs, repairs, replaces, troubleshoots, test and responds to routine and emergency service calls as they relate to HVAC systems and its components.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on HVAC according to established scheduled and provide input for upgrade or modification.
• Assists in the design, installation and commissioning of new and modification of existing HVAC and process equipment system and its components.
• Assists with maintenance and operation of building automation system, fire protection systems, security systems and other tasks as they apply to demands of the department.
• Provides training and mentoring to others in the operation and repair of HVAC.
• Utilizes CMMS to track preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and create work orders. Provide detailed written reports and daily pass down logs for internal use.
• Develops new and improves existing SOPs to effectively document process and procedures.
• Identify, implement, and document HVAC equipment and BAS improvement opportunities.
• Oversee and direct work completed by outside contractors and service providers.
• Complete assigned work orders, prepare cost estimates for approved repairs, and order materials in accordance with Thorne procedures.
• Maintain a variety of records of completed work including blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and logs.
• Assist in developing specifications and other technical data in support of budgeting, capital projects, and scopes of work to be completed by others.
• Assist with developing or improving preventative maintenance tasks and plans.
• Observe and comply with FDA / TGA / NSF and other regulatory requirements and Thorne Standard Operating Procedures.
• Observe and comply with relevant federal, state, and local building codes.
• Adhere to all site standards for safety, quality, housekeeping and security.
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Need :

Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through job experience and technical / apprentice school certification.
