Position Summary :

As a Project Manager in Heavy Civil Construction, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of highway and bridge construction projects.

You will be responsible for managing project teams, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to schedules and budgets. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of civil construction practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Planning and Coordination :
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, proposals, and other documentation as needed.
  • Project Execution :
  • Oversee all stages of project execution from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Team Management :
  • Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, foremen, and construction workers.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to promote professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Budget and Resource Management :
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Allocate and manage resources efficiently to optimize project outcomes.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best value.
  • Client Relations :
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and project delivery.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing highway and bridge construction projects.
  • Skills :
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
