The Shift Supervisor assists the Program Manager in managing the daily shift operations of the YYAGR program. The Shift Supervisor oversees all shift operations during their designated shift and provides direct supervision to the Residential Counselors during the shift.
Plummer Youth Promise offers several residential options for youth from ages 13 to 22. One of these programs is the Community Treatment Residence.
In this program, young people work toward connecting, or reconnecting with family, learning life skills, and being part of the community.
This living arrangement provides stability for young residents so they can work to overcome trauma and build confidence.
For each young person in our residential programs, Plummer implements our Intervention Model focusing on families, skills, and community.
The shift for this position is Sunday through Thursday 3-11.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee, and direct all shift operations / responsibilities for the CTR Program when in the building.
- Ensure the program is clean and orderly during every shift.
- Ensure all approved programmatic policies and procedures are followed during the shift.
- Effectively utilize TCI to manage a safe program environment.
- Ensure Collaborative Problem Solving is being practiced by Residential Counselors on a consistent basis.
- Effectively engage residents via Collaborative Problem Solving during each shift.
- Ensure program is staffed within ratio and that youth are safe, consistently supervised and engaged by staff.
- Assist in the daily supervision of the therapeutic milieu, including communicating programming concerns or needs to staff, and adhering to the schedule and structure of the Group Home.
- Ensure that the daily communication logs, client progress notes and incident reports are completed in accordance with program standards at the end of each shift.
- Accurately enter progress notes on internal note taking database, APRICOT for all direct interventions with residents.
- Ensure that residents of the Pre IL receive prescribed medications in accordance with Plummer MAP Procedures and the DPH Medication Administration Program (MAP).
- Ensure all MAP documentation is completed per MAP and Plummer policy during each shift.
- Assist in the coordination of intakes and discharges as assigned by the Clinical Director.
- Monitor and evaluate the use of program money in relation to petty cash, boys activity money, chore money, and clothing checks.
- Participate in a 7-day 24 / 7 / 365 Emergency on-call rotating schedule.
- Participates in monthly staff meeting and all other scheduled agency trainings.
- Assist in training newly hired staff.
- Attend and actively engage in all monthly leadership meetings
- Other duties as assigned.

Preparation Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- BS / BA college degree in a human service field (preferred).
- Experience working in a residential program.
- Supervision experience preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills in conjunction with strong organizational & motivational skills.
- Ability to handle quick-paced stressful environment independently and support others to work effectively
- Current MAP Certification.
- Strong teambuilding, teaching, nurturing, and leadership skills.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively during a crisis.
- Ability to manage the milieu, including working shifts if deemed necessary.
- Have a valid Massachusetts drivers license, and acceptable driving history.
- Visual and hearing acuity to perform job functions.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairways.
