Job Summary

Dr. Joseph M. Metzger, in The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP) at the University of Minnesota Medical School, is seeking outstanding candidates with an Ph.

D. and / or M.D. for research projects in molecular and integrative cardiology and skeletal muscle biology, including striated muscle sarcomere and cytoskeleton structure-function, E-C coupling, experimental gene and cell-based therapy and chemical-based molecular band-aids.

Studies are directed toward acquired and inherited diseases, including heart failure, ischemia and muscular dystrophy.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

Ph.D. in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, physiology of related fields, or M.D.

Preferred Qualifications :

Expertise with gene editing and molecular biology, including such evidence as manifest in peer-reviewed research paper as a first author.
