Job Title : 80415 - Sr. Advanced FPGA Firmware EngineerJob Location : Canonsburg PA 15317Onsite Requirements : VHDL or VerilogXilinxActive clearanceJob Description : We are seeking a CL-SrAdvanced FPGA Firmware Developer (Sr Adv Software Eng) to develop, integrate, test, and support custom FPGA firmware within the Torpedo Systems Group (TSG).
The TSG designs, develops, demonstrates, produces, assembles, tests and delivers torpedo SONAR arrays and electronic assemblies.
The TSG team works with the Navy, internal production staff and representatives from other companies to advance torpedo performance and lower production costs.
Sr. Advanced FPGA Firmware Engineer : Requires a bachelor's degree in software engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS : Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire but must be obtainable within a reasonable period as determined by program requirements.

Duties include : Architect, design, and document FPGA firmware hierarchies, components, interfaces, and data flowsDevelop firmware in accordance with detailed designs descriptionsSimulate and test firmware components in preparation for integrationDefine FPGA timing, pinout, and placement constraintsReview synthesis and timing reports, address issuesIntegrate and test firmware on target hardwareIdentify necessary schematic updates and hardware reworks to support designUtilize FPGA tools and laboratory equipment for integration and debugDocument failures, identify root causes, implement fixes, and verify changesMaintain configuration management documentation for the FPGA designKeys Skills : Experience implementing FPGA firmware including custom VHDL components containing state machines, synchronous / asynchronous logic, processes, and external interfacesUnderstanding of the underlying FPGA fabric the firmware utilizesExperience working across cross-clock boundariesFamiliarity with Xilinx (AMD) and / or Altera (Intel) compiler, programming, and debug toolsExperience reviewing schematics, parts lists, and re-work documentationMethodical problem-solving skillsMotivation to independently research and resolve issuesStrong written and oral communication skillsWhat Sets You Apart : Familiarity with floor planning and timing optimizationsWorking knowledge of standard network protocols (e.
