Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) was established in 1972 in a grassroots effort by community members seeking alternatives to prison for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD).

SCADP is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization providing residential treatment services and outpatient counseling services to individuals throughout Los Angeles.

PAY RATE : $23.64 - $24.89 Per Hour

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

In training to be an AOD counselor, the Case Manager AOD I - MC provides services to beneficiaries participating in treatment and intensive case management services to eligible clients, meeting participants at least weekly.

The Case Manager is the primary point of contact to coordinate services and care for assigned clients.

Under guidance and supervision of a Certified AOD Counselor, the Case Manager AOD I learns alcohol and drug counseling functions including screening, assessment, and intake.

Meets annual renewal requirements and submits annual renewal of Registration until Certification is earned.

Each Case Manager handles a caseload of individuals in need of a wide variety of human services resources and provides the full range of services available, as described below :

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments with individuals (and families as appropriate) to collect functional, environmental, psycho-social, financial, employment, housing, educational, and health information, as appropriate
• Assess barriers facing the clients and develop a case plan.
• Coordinate individualized planning with clients to meet short- and long-term needs.
• Provide service linkages and support systems to ensure identified needs are met.
• Coordinates case conferences with clients, consults with service team, monitors progress of clients on case plan, assists clients to meet the agreed upon goals.
• Acts as advocate for client before judicial, community, social service, and administrative bodies as needed; facilitates support groups and client participation
• Network and communicate with referral agencies and community resources, as well as family members and natural supports
• Other duties as may be required to meet the goals of La Casita, and the program participants

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS :

Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications

EDUCATION :

Alcohol and Drug Counseling Registration by an approved accrediting organization (CCAPP, CADTP or CADEE)

EXPERIENCE :

Minimum 1-year general experience in case management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• AA or higher degree in Behavioral Science
• 2 years’ experience working with target population
• Knowledge of / expertise with substance abuse services in LA County
