OTR Refrigerated Driver

Job Overview : Our Iowa client is seeking to add a new OTR Refrigerated Driver to their team. As an OTR Refrigerated Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of our perishable goods across various locations.

This is a direct hire position.

• What you will be doing as an OTR Refrigerated Driver…
• Operate a refrigerated truck to transport goods to designated locations across the country.
• Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and care to maintain product quality.
• Maintain the temperature integrity of the refrigerated unit throughout transportation, monitoring and adjusting settings as needed.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, road regulations, and safety protocols to ensure accident-free driving.
• Communicate effectively with the logistics team to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any changes or delays in the schedule.
• Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities.
• Plan and execute efficient routes to meet delivery schedules, considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and customer requirements.
• Skills you ideally bring to the table as a OTR Refrigerated Driver…
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A) and a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as an OTR truck driver, preferably with experience in refrigerated transportation.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safety standards pertaining to commercial driving.
• Familiarity with refrigerated truck operations, including temperature control and monitoring systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and safety.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
