We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist focused on developing and enhancing non-financial risk analytics capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, cloud technology (specifically AWS), and machine learning.

You will play a critical role in building data models, creating data pipelines, and developing analytical solutions that provide insights into risk management.

Location : 100% remote for Chicago, Toronto, Bay Area locals!

Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and implement data models and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using AWS Glue and other AWS services.
  • Build data pipelines to aggregate data from multiple sources and enable advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop machine learning models and AI capabilities using AWS SageMaker.
  • Ensure data quality and governance by implementing best practices in data management.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Support ongoing digital transformation initiatives by enabling advanced analytics and automation capabilities.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Glue and AWS SageMaker.
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in data manipulation and transformation.
  • SQL knowledge; familiarity with R is a plus.
  • Experience with ETL processes, including data ingestion, cleansing, normalization, and integration.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality assurance, and best practices in data management.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in operational risk management, non-financial risk analytics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools such as Archer.

  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for leveraging data to drive business outcomes.
