Apply today!Job Description Reactor Equipment Development (RED) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer that is interested in developing innovative manufacturing methods to enable new designs in support of the next generation of US Navy reactors.

RED is developing and executing implementation strategies for new technology to advance the Program's interests and develop the domestic vendor base for large reactor plant heavy equipment components.

This position will be responsible for leading development efforts, including strategic decision making, technical oversight of projects and performing supporting analysis.

In addition, this position involves evaluating alternative design concepts using new technology and identifying and leading necessary testing.

The successful candidate will have opportunities for leadership development and will be required to communicate with multiple organizations, vendors and personnel at all levels.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field;

or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.Preferred Skills Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working in a team environment to deliver technical objectives. Demonstrated drive to achieve project deliverables.
