About The Position
Job Title : Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Specialty : Speech Therapy Job Duration : 6 Months Shift : 8 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : 1-2 years in an acute or clinical setting, preferred License : Current Speech Pathology License, required Certifications : - Current BLS Certification, required- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred Must-Have : Pass the National Praxis exam Job Description : Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.- Liaise with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with Occupational and Physical Therapists for overall patient care.- Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
- Educate patients and families about speech disorders and their causes.- Document patient care history accurately and timely.
- Report progress and status to relevant parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to regulations and policies.
- Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures.- Possess analytical ability to evaluate information and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.- Be detail-oriented with proven multitasking abilities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and build rapport easily.- Accurately assess clinical conditions related to patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.- Competency in computer skills, including MS Office, Outlook, and Meditech.
