WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER
- Master's degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, data science, or a related field
- Comfortability working independently and in a leadership role where position has a significant say on product design and implementation
- 5+ years developing and implementing machine learning models for optical or sufficiently similar data
- Experience with Linux
- 3+ years of experience in Python
- 1+ years of experience using PyTorch
- 1+ years working with either GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Experience with Docker
- Experience working with Nvidia hardware
- Ability to travel for occasional fieldwork or conference attendance
The following qualifications are preferred :
- PhD in computer science, data science, or artificial intelligence
- Experience in leading a development team
- 3+ years of cloud development experience, preferably using GCP
- Experience in high-performance edge computing, especially using Nvidia computers such as Jetson Orin units
- Experience in research and development
- Experience with active or passive acoustic data
- Working with multi-modal models
- Working with graphical neural networks
- Experience or interest in working on projects in the marine domain
- Fluency in Spanish
- Experience working with Washington tribal communities
DAY-TO-DAY AS A MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER
This full-time engineering role works a flexible schedule from 9 am- 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
As a Machine Learning Engineer at our underwater monitoring technology company, your day begins with reviewing the latest advancements in optical machine learning detection and tracking algorithms.
You dive into testing and implementing cutting-edge model frameworks, always looking for the perfect solution to tackle unique marine data challenges.
Throughout the day, you iterate on novel models, refining them to handle the complexities of optical and acoustic data from underwater environments.
