Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Hardware Design Engineer 2 with our client located in Redmond, WA.

Job Responsibilities :

• Working with the Industrial Design, User Experience, Mechanical Engineering and Tooling Engineering teams in the development of digital models ranging from rough concepts and prototypes to final models.
• Understanding and supporting mechanical engineering, tooling, and manufacturing requirements, while bringing design intent through to production.
• Providing necessary information to model makers to develop physical appearance prototype models.
• Participating in the creative development of new concepts and the evolution of existing concepts in development.
• Meeting design deliverable schedules as required to support our fast-paced product development process.
• Purpose of the Team : Exterior Industrial Design across all hardware products at the client. This includes early-in-design concepting thru final production.

Digital sculpting is another way to describe this role.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm : The role will consist of 20% meetings, 80% heads down CAD surfacing work.

Job Qualifications :

• Must have 1 year of experience with Industry experience using Parametric 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Catia)
• Must have 1 year of experience Industry experience working with Industrial Design in the consumer product field.
• Must have 1 year of Demonstratable knowledge about Class-A requirements and terminology.
• 2-4 years of overall experience.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
• The ideal candidate would have technical experience with mechanical engineering, tooling, and manufacturing of consumer products.

A solid grasp of Creo Parametric Software, Top-Down Design, Skeleton Models. Familiarity with rapid prototyping, 3D printing and CNC model development and Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

• Industry experience using Parametric 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Catia).
• Industry experience working with Industrial Design in the consumer product field.

Job Details :

• Job Type : Contract hire

• Pay Range : $53-$67 / hr.
• ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.
