BioMADE is creating a one-of-a-kind Digital Backbone, which fills an unmet need to provide a unified computational infrastructure for bioproduction-centered collaboration across industry, academia, and the Department of Defense.

We are looking for a Digital Product Manager to help manage, develop, and outline a successful roadmap for our Digital Backbone that encompasses the underlying drivers of our current Bioeconomy.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Digital Product Manager who has served as either as a project or program manager. The incumbent will work with our Data team to collaborate on product development ensuring the features buildout are meeting branding, usability, and, ultimately, business objectives.

This role will be instrumental in coordinating aspects of the product development process including analysis, design, testing, and delivery to our members.

The candidate will also be responsible for creating a great customer experience and customer acquisition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Co-create and manage the product roadmap of BioMADE’s Digital Backbone and other data-centric projects.
  • Analyze user behaviors, needs, and pain points to identify solutions and improvements to current workflows.
  • Gather requirements from business stakeholders, write user stories, create personas, and define success metrics.
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
  • Lead the innovation process and ensure a pipeline of new ideas are being generated continuously.
  • Create functional specifications, and mockups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts.
  • Keep up to date on changes in technologies and the ways in which consumers decide to make purchases online or decisions.
  • Participate and engage in daily and weekly agile ceremonies; facilitate those required for product artifacts.
  • Write and break down epics independently as needed. Write and review detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify problems before they arrive and navigate to solutions that don't interfere with the overall goals and timelines.
  • Present findings and progress updates to key stakeholders.

Other Duties May Include

  • Lead partner and stakeholder collaboration sessions.
  • Develop and maintain monthly status reports.
  • Develop and socialize new solution concepts and ideas internally to gain buy-in.
  • Drive sprint planning meetings and manage backlog enabling a consistent and effective delivery model.
  • Mentor other team members to ensure team is working towards clear goals.
  • Other duties as assigned or as they become apparent.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Digital Product Manager or similar role.
  • Experience with Project or Program Management.
  • Solid understanding of web development, UI, and user experience optimization as well as emerging opportunities in social media, email, search, and mobile.
  • Familiarity with Digital Product metrics.
  • Expertise with product growth strategies and methodologies.

Desired Characteristics

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships.
  • Ability to operate as a partner and can work across teams and functions to drive stakeholder alignment and co-create product assets (roadmaps, PRDs, etc.).
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on a course of action.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Biological, STEM, or related field.
