Breast Imaging Chief at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an academic breast imager to serve as section chief.
Academic rank and tenure will depend on qualifications and experience. Qualified applicants should be ABR-certified or eligible, have completed fellowship training in breast imaging (or comparable), and demonstrated leadership success.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, an established record of scholarly pursuit, and an active interest in teaching.
The Department of Radiology consists of 109 faculty members, including 19 physicists and PhD researchers. The breast imaging section at UAB is a busy clinical service consisting of four dedicated breast imagers who are responsible for interpreting over 40,000 exams annually.
Mammography (Digital and DBT), ultrasound, breast procedures, breast MRI, and CEM are practiced in a highly collaborative environment within our breast health center, where we are co-located with breast surgeons and oncologists who engage with us in interdisciplinary conferences, research collaborations, and teaching opportunities.
