A Brief Overview

The District Sales Manager is responsible for field level leadership call points on select National Retail Account outlets in a geographic territory.

DSMs are responsible for achieving key pillars including profit, volume and share goals for their designated customers. Additional responsibilities include the daily execution of all company standards, pricing management, customer relations, managing customer commercialization calendars, assist in forecasting (based on channel criteria), actively managing Look of Success (LOS) and stewardship of business reviews in each store & each Market.

Responsibilities

  • Service and develop strong partnerships with our customers’ district sales leadership & store managers.
  • Build strong selling relationships at multiple levels and functions within customer group to influence key internal and external decision makers.
  • Advanced understanding of the customer, their language and go to business strategy.
  • Maximize customer revenue potential by understanding their objectives, programs key strategies, concept, competitors, and consumer / shopper targets, and developing collaborative execution plans.
  • Ensure precise, consistent, and timely communication with internal and external customers.
  • Execute LOS (Look of Success) to increase revenue and grow brands.
  • Conduct business reviews with customers to discuss performance and secure incremental activity.
  • Sell-in innovation items as well as incremental SKUs, packages, equipment, and displays to increase RED Scores.
  • Responsible for problem solving for operational or executional issues with the customer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field required.
  • 1-2 years Sales experience, preferably within the consumer goods / beverages industry required.
  • 1-2 years sales operations preferred.
  • Experience in the development of Category, Brand, Commercial and / or Marketing program required.
  • Proven track record of achieving sustainable sales-driven results.
  • Collaborating for Value and Collaborative Business Planning Skills preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to think strategically and can improve the Organization’s performance within the assigned customer base.
  • Successful track record of building strong, lasting business relationships with customers.
  • Understanding of promotional activities, product lines and competitive positioning within a market.
  • Effective at influencing and coaching others.
  • Ability to gather various points of input to create and sell a concept or program / initiative.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
  • PowerPoint, ACNielsen, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, MS Teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented & excellent follow-through.
  • Removes barriers to move faster, thrives under pressure and fast-paced environment.
  • Creative & proactive thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of marketing and commercial activation, strongly preferred.

Base pay range is $78,494 to $103,022 plus bonus structure (dependent on role). Pay offered will depend on candidate’s geographic location, prior relevant experience, knowledge, skills, & abilities.
