Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Nashville, TN 37203 – Downtown access, parks, and thriving arts community Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts / week) Hours per Week : 36 Assignment Duration : 13 weeks Start Date : ASAP Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1610–$1730 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required before first shift ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification required before first shift Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience (2 years preferred) Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care following individualized care plans in a Med / Surg unit Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify education needs and goals Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record Participate in patient rehabilitation and discharge planning processes Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary healthcare staff Maintain a safe and compliant environment for patients and staff, adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols Promote a positive team culture and contribute to a supportive work environment Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study Ready to take your nursing career to the next level in Nashville?
