About The Position
Job Title : OR Technologist Job Specialty : Operating Room Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 0800-1830, 4 days a week with a rotating day off throughout the week;
1 weeknight and 2 weekend days a month for call requirements Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 6 months of technical experience or specialized training for non-certified, on-the-job, or military training License : N / A Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certified Surgical Technologist exam (through NBSTSA or NCCT, if certified) Must-Have : High School diploma or equivalent Job Description : - Assist in transporting and positioning patients - Assemble and dismantle tables and instruments before and after procedures - Prepare patients and rooms for planned surgical procedures - Open sterile supplies and set up for procedures - Complete skin preparation and draping - Assist the surgeon with gowning and gloving - Pass instruments and suture to the surgeon during procedures - Maintain a correct count of instruments, sutures, and sponges - Apply dressings and bandages as needed - Identify, collect, and care for specimens - Decontaminate instruments and handle / store equipment and supplies appropriately - Aid in efficient turnover of the operating room for subsequent cases - Monitor and restock supplies
