Minimum 1+ years physical therapy experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist to join our school-based healthcare team. As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals to provide physical therapy services to students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to determine students' physical therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with their IEP goals and objectives.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and techniques to enhance students' motor skills, balance, coordination, strength, and mobility.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to ensure integration of therapy goals into the educational setting.
- Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of students' IEPs.
- Communicate effectively with parents / guardians to discuss students' progress, recommendations, and home-based activities.
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in school-based physical therapy.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Knowledge of IDEA regulations and the special education process is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
