Job Description and Key Responsibilities

This is a mid-level position, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor. The electrical engineer will design and develop electrical / electronic design concepts and implement concepts into finished working designs in support of the development of next generation SONAR systems.

Key responsibilities :

  • Design analog and digital circuits to support acoustic navigation and location devices
  • Design and develop electrical / electronic design concepts and implement concepts into finished working designs based on specification requirements, and inputs from customer and other engineers involving multidisciplinary activities
  • Identify tasks associated with existing projects and estimate manpower and other resources required to execute objectives
  • Review requirements for printed circuits, perform schematic and layout design of new boards
  • Perform design analysis and create circuit level tests to establish validity of designs including thermal effects and power dissipation
  • Develop or specify test methods and associated test equipment to verify board function
  • Modem design - requires general knowledge of digital communication systems and signal processing of low to mid frequency bandwidths (
  • Apply FPGAs and other programmable devices into designs. Perform extended application and analysis of op-amps, logic devices, and transformers and current / power requirements
  • Prepare and present internal and external design reviews, PDR and CDR activities to demonstrate the design meets all specifications and customer requirements

Required Education and Basic Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in related field
  • General knowledge of all areas of electrical engineering and capable of participating in the design of existing components
  • Efficiency using schematic capture software, manufacturing support software and planning and control software

Required Citizenship and Security Clearance

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Secret or Ability to obtain clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite, Altium, AutoCAD, PADs or similar, Matlab, and LabView
  • FPGA background

Salary Range : $75,000 - $125,000
