Senior Controller - Commercial Construction Company
We have partnered with a top-ranked San Diego General Contractor and are assisting them in a search for a Senior Controller .
This position will be a member of senior management and is responsible for timely reporting and relaying accurate profitability to the executive team.
The Senior Controller is responsible for overlooking the entire accounting team.
Financial Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the accounting team (A / P, project coordinators, payroll department) to produce accurate monthly and annual company financial statements.
Conduct reviews of these statements with the Executive team, offering strategic advice on enhancing or maintaining profitability in upcoming periods.
- Maintain the Work in Progress (WIP) report.
- Oversee the accounting team and their functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Manage company accounting policies and update financial, operational, purchasing, and other policies to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
Collaborate with the IT manager to optimize software and infrastructure supporting office and field operations.
- Assist department directors in developing annual budgets.
- Maintain the fixed asset reporting module in Sage 300.
Insurance Responsibilities :
- Overlook all Worker's Comp claims.
- Lead company on quarterly insurance claim conference calls with company carrier.
- Lead insurance renewals and negotiate policies with brokers.
- Act as main POC for general liability claims.

- Excellent job costing skills
- Construction reporting experience
- Excellent financial and analytical skills
