Job description
HireArt is seeking a hands-on engineering manager with experience in full-stack web development to join a team focused on the sourcing side of our platform.
Our ideal candidate is a player-coach : great at managing people and projects, happy supporting and mentoring a team of talented engineers, willing to be hands-on writing code, and eager to manage their own product features.
In a Typical Week as an Engineering Manager, you’ll :
- Lead, support, and guide a team of engineers to ensure on-time delivery
- Work closely with product managers and engineers to develop the team’s roadmap
- Write code, architect solutions, and be a part of code reviews that contribute to the team’s code base
- Lead and facilitate product manager and software engineers in agile ceremonies and implementing processes
- Remove roadblocks, identify issues, drive resolutions, and proactively enhance the developer experience to optimize team efficiency
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers
- 7+ years experience as a software engineer
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience writing production software with Ruby
- Experience building, shipping and maintaining web applications that are reliable, testable and maintainable
- Ability to summarize technical and complex ideas or solutions
- Ability to lead a team in scoping and estimating work across multiple sprints
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Proven track record of working cross functionally with Engineering, Product, Design and business stakeholders
- BS or BA, or equivalent experience
You’ll REALLY stand out if you have :
- Experience working within the HR tech industry
- 5+ years of hands-on management experience
- Experience as a staff engineer
- Experience working in a rapidly growing startup environment.
- Experience with ReactJS
