Assistant Swim Coach

Job Overview :

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Aquatics and Assistant Director of Aquatics, the Assistant Swim Coach is responsible to help swim team operations. This includes maintaining a high level of communication with fellow aquatics staff, participants, parents, officials and administration, and assisting with afternoon / evening practices.

Key Responsibilities, in coordination and consultation with the Director / Asst. Director, include :

• Assisting with conditioning and development of a competitive swim team.
• Attending swim meets throughout the season
• Directing and managing warm ups and team discipline, provides encouragement and motivation, and manages award distribution.
• Ensuring the safety of all swimmers and guests, understands / reviews all safety rules and emergency action procedures. Promotes and enforces safe behaviors.
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with swimmers, parents, and Riverdale Y staff.
• Completing other related duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director / Assistant Aquatics Director.

Qualities and Qualifications :

Salary : $40 per hour.

This is a part-time non-benefit, in-person role, Monday through Thursday, with occasional weekends throughout the year. General hours are 5 : 00pm to 7 : 30pm.
