JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and implementing a therapy program to meet the needs of speech, language, and hearing-impaired students, while ensuring that all procedures are followed to maintain safety and security and to meet federal, state, and local regulations.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), or related field
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program at an accredited institution in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, or related field
- Acceptance into a Master’s degree program at an accredited institution in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, or related field, within a year of hire
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
Valid and current Florida certification in field, or hold appropriate state license for position
Bachelor level and clinical fellowship year (CFY) applicants encouraged to apply.
Mentoring and supervision for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) available.
Middle & HS ONLY :
This position may require you to teach an additional period beyond your base contract. Should this occur, you will receive additional compensation at the effective negotiated rate (currently $6500 for a full-year) in addition to your base salary for instructing this additional period.
This additional amount will be paid as a supplement and will be disbursed in equal payments based on the District’s established payroll calendar for this position.
This amount is considered part of your salary for Florida Retirement System purposes.
