We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fiber Optic Cabling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber optic cabling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

They should be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Installation and Maintenance : Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables in various environments, including commercial buildings, data centers, and telecommunications facilities.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and tests performed. Ensure that documentation is complete and up-to-date for all projects.
• Testing and Troubleshooting : Conduct thorough testing of fiber optic cables using appropriate equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Identify and resolve any issues or defects in a timely manner.

• Compliance : Ensure that all installations comply with industry standards and regulations, including safety protocols and building codes.
• Collaboration : Work closely with other members of the technical team, including network engineers, project managers, and field technicians, to ensure seamless integration of fiber optic infrastructure with existing systems.
• Customer Service : Provide excellent customer service, including clear communication and timely response to inquiries and service requests.
• Training and Support : Provide training and support to junior technicians as needed. Share knowledge and best practices to promote continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

Qualifications :

• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optic cabling installation and maintenance, with a proven track record of success.
• Certifications : Relevant certifications such as FOA (Fiber Optic Association) certification or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in fiber optic cabling techniques, including splicing, termination, and testing. Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment.
• Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and find effective solutions.
• Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality workmanship on every project.
• Physical Requirements : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces as required.
