This position is based at our Bend, Oregon headquarters and requires travel to international locations. The Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the Director of Sourcing and Procurement.

This position will report on site daily and will require the person hired to live within a commutable distance. The compensation for this position is $80,000-$105,000 and relocation assistance is available.

Job Description

  • Drive sourcing initiatives to identify and evaluate new suppliers, optimizing supply cost, quality and performance outcomes.
  • Design and conduct Requests for Quotation & Proposal which impact key parts of our innovation process.
  • Manage multiple sourcing initiatives ensuring on time and on budget delivery.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts and implement process for onboarding selected vendor(s).
  • Proactively build strong partnerships with stakeholders in Engineering, Product Development, Operations and Finance to understand business needs and drive best supply cost / performance decisions.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to mitigate risk and optimize opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new product / material releases.

Position Growth

  • The sourcing activities for this position will interact with many teams in the business including supporting Engineering / R&D team locate new materials, collaborate with our Quality team to confirm viability, present financial impacts to business managers and receive customer feedback from our international teams.
  • Travel needed for this position will include visiting international vendors to determine viability to produce high quality materials and ensure the vendor’s capabilities match our needs.

Travel requirements vary through the year with many months requiring no travel and a few requiring multiple trips in a month.

  • Become a Portfolio Project Owner over time as you learn the business to create an impact on product development and build out supply chains that enable us to bring new products to market.
  • This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with teams / vendors in EU and Asia frequently.
  • We are open to training someone with a degree in supply chain, engineering, or business.

Qualifications

  • Drives problem solving while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • An ability to understand conflicting incentives and to work with external parties to generate positive outcomes for the business.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems and an interest in becoming a subject matter expert in our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics D365.
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork at multiple levels and across multiple functions of the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management with experience supporting an engineering team.
  • Experience working for a manufacturing company is desired.
  • 2+ yrs experience working in a Procurement / Sourcing function.
