Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Department Director and Medical Director, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing basic and advanced levels of Respiratory Care services to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
The Respiratory Therapist provides services in accordance with specific physician orders, department policies, procedures and protocols.
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for patient assessments, patient education, implementation of therapy and the evaluation of the effectiveness of therapy.
It is the responsibility of the Respiratory Therapist to be an active participant in a multidisciplinary team in communicating the needs of the patient with the physician and members of the care health team.
Requirement description :
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in accredited Respiratory Therapy program.- REQUIRED
- Completion of registry exam within one-year of graduation- REQUIRED
- Equipment used / skills required : Blood Gas / Co-Oximetry Analyzers, Ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP Machines. Apnea, Saturation, Hemocue, ECG and End Tidal CO2 Monitors.- REQUIRED
- Patient assessment, medication administration, aerosol therapy, airway management, airway clearance, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy and auscultation of breath sounds.- REQUIRED
