About the role

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to oversee the User Experiences that lead to discovering, interacting and operating the Crunchyroll services in our Partners Products.

You will need to have experience that sits at the intersection of Product Management, Partnerships, Business Development and Engineering, with an understanding of the entertainment industry and landscape.

You will know how to influence externally and internally with strategy principles and data.

You will contribute to Crunchyroll's position as a leading platform for anime and manga content by shaping our nascent Partnerships organization.

You will maximize partnerships channels, both content creation and distribution, attract and retain subscribers, and strengthen Crunchyroll's competitive edge in the entertainment industry.

Success will be measured in your ability to increase the value generated through partnerships, while preserving core product identity and execution resources.

You will :

  • Product Strategy : Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership product strategy aligned with our overall goals and market trends.
  • Partnership Development : Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with distribution partners, content creators, and technology vendors that complement our product offerings and enhance our market position.
  • Collaboration : Collaborate with other teams, including core security, product management, games engineering, sales, marketing, and legal, to guide successful partnership integrations and go-to-market strategies.
  • Revenue Growth : Protect our ability to monetize and our partnerships channels revenue through efficient, secure and safe product features, across streaming, gaming and adjacent verticals that make up the Crunchyroll Flywheel of services.
  • Partner Management : Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and internal executives, to drive alignment and support for partnership product initiatives.
  • Market Leader : Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and user preferences to make informed decisions and keep the product competitive.
  • Data-driven : Evangelize data-driven decision-making, and partner with Center for Data and Insights to build standardized product performance metrics and dashboards.

In the role of Principal Product Manager - Partner Product, User Experiences you will report to the VP of Partner Product.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

You have a Bachelor’s degree, experience with hands-on software development for embedded devices, 5+ years in product management, and experience in product security.

Experience in the subscription streaming industry ideal.

  • Experience working with multi-platform products on mobile, web and OTT with a global reach and adoption.
  • You have experience in one or more areas of live streaming, gaming, online retail.
  • Have broad technical understanding of encryption, obfuscation, secured protocols, privacy, fraud prevention and compliance.
  • You have product instinct and can balance technical, user and business needs.
  • You have experience working collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • You have experience using data to inform decisions - leading A / B testing or quasi A / B testing a plus.
  • Have experience with 0 to 1 initiatives and can bring structure to ambiguous environments.

About the Team

The Product Partnerships team at Crunchyroll is a newly formed group who will build the foundations and lead our nascent Partner Product strategy.

We want to be the champions of increasing the value generated through partnerships, while preserving primary product identity and execution resources.

We manage Partner products through the articulation of value, strategic principles and consistent decision and operation frameworks.

We work in collaboration with our Core Product team, the Partnerships Engineering Organization and Business Development teams, to propel Crunchyroll to the next stage of reach and fan joy.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance.

The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.
