The CNU College of Social Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in the following areas : Leadership Studies- Self-discovery and group dynamics- Leadership theory and perspectives- Values and ethics in leadership- Leading adaptive change- Leadership analysis of historical figures and situations- Leadership in complex contexts (systems and cultures)- Special topics in area of expertise Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate course work.
Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. Candidates for hire are required to complete a CNU-sponsored background check.

The Department of Leadership and American Studies at Christopher Newport University is composed of 16 faculty and offers a second major and a minor in Leadership Studies, and a major and minor in American Studies.
The Leadership Studies minor won the Outstanding Leadership Program Award in 2019 from the Association of Leadership Educators.
