Planar Systems is seeking an Accountant for a temporary opportunity planned to last from December 1, 2024, through April 30, 2025.
Job Description
- Ensures company transactions are being recorded in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as US GAAP
- Manages intercompany transactions including trade and non-trade
- Understands and performs analysis for MDF, SPIFF and Contra revenue accruals
- These are partner / third-party incentives, according to agreements
- Books Journal entries and perform reconciliations for intercompany accounts, demo and fixed assets, leases and other accruals
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
- Participates in Financial reports and supplemental packages for HQ
- Monthly / quarterly reporting
- Performs research related to new accounting pronouncements, documenting and communicating findings to management
- Writes internal control documentation and acts as lead on annual internal control testing
- Supports external auditors by interacting with finance team as well as multiple teams within the company
- Completes various accounting and finance ad hoc projects as requested by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Business, Finance or Accounting
- 3 + years of experience as an accountant, with particular GL emphasis
- Knowledge of accounting, reporting processes and procedures
- Knowledge of accounting laws and regulations
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics is preferable
- Experience using an ERP system is preferable
