Professor of Practice, Senior Lecturer, or Lecturer in Marketing and Management Communications, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business is seeking applicants for a Professor of Practice / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer position in the Marketing and Management Area, with a renewable 3-year or 5-year term, depending on rank.

Candidates would be appointed at the rank that is appropriate given their experience and performance. The position is set to commence on July 1, 2025, and will be based in either Ithaca, NY, or New York City.

The responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing and require :

  • Engaging in curriculum development.
  • Delivering high-quality, innovative course content.
  • Advising and mentoring students.
  • Engaging in service activities within the college and broader academic community.
  • Contributing to the college's outreach efforts.

Although candidates may be traditional academics or marketing experts from the corporate world, the most attractive candidate is likely to possess the following job qualifications :

  • Discipline-related master's degree or Ph.D. in Marketing or related field and / or,
  • Experience teaching in a four-year accredited college or university, preferably teaching multi-section courses and / or the equivalent experience in business.
  • Experience and skill in teaching marketing principles, product strategy, pricing, marketing research, or consumer behavior.
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in collaborating with colleagues.

It is expected that our faculty teach across multiple schools within the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. This position's home will be with one of our three schools and will be determined at the time of hire.

In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $230,000.

This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.

Cornell University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria :

  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
