Painter I is responsible for preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces. This role involves basic tasks such as surface preparation, masking, and clean-up.

The painter will help prepare surfaces, mix paints for different needs, and apply them with brushes or rollers to fill in cracks or apply color on walls and doors.

Requirements :

Essential Functions :

• Applies various finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers.
• Prepares, cleans, and tapes all jobsites.
• Removes old paint coating, if necessary.
• Mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency and other finishes according to project requirements.
• Cleans and maintains painting equipment and tools.
• Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Cleans up worksite debris.
• Follows safety protocols and maintains a clean work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
• Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety

Minimum :

• High school diploma is an asset
• Previous painting experience preferred
• Proficiency with painting tools and equipment
• Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods of time
• Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic

Preferred :

Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
