Responsibilities
- Design and prepare plans, specifications, and quantities under the supervision of the Project Manager
- Lead a team of engineers and drafters
- Develop horizontal and vertical geometry
- Create roadway corridor models
- Prepare project reports
- Interact and communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and contracts
- Participate in quality control / quality assurance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license required (or able to obtain within 12 months of hire)
- 5 -10 years of progressive experience in transportation design.
- Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) or Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Ability to collaborate with the design team, project manager, clients, and agencies
- Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
