Veterinary Technician (Boston Veterinary Care)

Animal Rescue League of Boston
Boston, MA, United States
Full-time

Are you mission driven and interested in working with animals? The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), one of New England’s leading animal welfare organizations, is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team at Boston Veterinary Care , our private practice veterinary clinic.

Who we are :

For 125 years, ARL has responded to the needs of animals and supported a community in which animals are protected, safe, and healthy - in homes and out of shelters.

We provide high quality veterinary care, adoption, and rescue services, while also confronting the root causes of animal cruelty and neglect through innovative community programs, humane law enforcement, and public advocacy.

Boston Veterinary Care (BVC) is a busy small animal, four-doctor veterinary practice located in Boston’s beautiful and historic South End.

We see appointments and perform a wide variety of surgeries, with all profits from the hospital benefiting the shelter pets of the Animal Rescue League.

What we offer :

  • 11 paid holidays;
  • Vacation, sick, and personal PTO;
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance and a retirement plan with employer matching program;
  • Generous pet care reimbursement and discounts;
  • Monthly team meetings to encourage team communication and program improvement;
  • Structured in house CE, lunch and learns, and on-going training;
  • Effective communication and timely feedback / check-ins with management along with goal-setting;
  • No on call or forced overtime.

What you will do :

  • Be involved in all aspects of patient care, including assisting doctors in clinical appointments, surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring and recovery;
  • Work with a close-knit medical team of Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and Veterinary Technician Assistants;
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients;
  • Be encouraged to share your thoughts to improve how we deliver our best care and service;
  • Help us improve our services and continue to learn and grow as a team of caring animal welfare professionals who work hard to exceed the expectations of our clients, provide exceptional care to our animals, and build a supportive and fun working environment!
  • Paid out after three months of employment.

We are searching for a technician to work either 32 hours per week or 40 hours per week. Both schedules are benefits-eligible.
