What does a Teacher do?

As a Teacher, you play a formative role in the social and educational development of the students. You will work with a specific age group who love the flexibility of how they choose to spend their afternoons and the quality of the care they receive.

Each day, you will :

• Greet children arriving to the program, and prepare and serve nutritious snacks.
• Facilitate children’s learning experiences and activities.
• Provide structure and support for homework and literacy; and
• Maintain collaborative and professional relationships with both students and parents, focusing on each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

What kinds of experience and skills do Teachers need?

• Experience working closely with school-age children in a childcare, school, or camp setting.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to keep children engaged in learning.
• Willingness to learn and implement new classroom strategies to manage behaviors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in close partnership with members of your team.
• Ability to pass CORI / SORI checks.
• A statement of health from a physician.
• Positive references from past employers / teachers.

What your September to June work schedule will be :

• Mondays : 2 : 00-6pm.
• Tuesdays : 2 : 00-6pm (There is 1 Tuesday with 10am-6pm shift during the year).
• Wednesdays : 10am-6pm..
• Thursdays : 2 : 00-6pm (There are 5 Thursdays with 10am-6pm shifts during the year)
• Fridays : 2 : 00-6pm.
