SIGN-ON Bonus Offered : $10,000.00 - (Paid in installments. Discussed upon hiring).

The Animal Foundation is seeking highly motivated Shelter Medicine Veterinarians to help us sustain our mission. Would you like to help us continue to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals in the Las Vegas Valley?

You would be joining our team of veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants support staff to bring the most effective care to the animals in our shelter.

While medicine will be the focus of this position, some surgery may also be required on an as-needed basis. We practice the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare and Fear Free Sheltering.

We take in any animal that comes through our doors regardless of health, temperament, or species. We value your personal time and provide an environment that encourages you to recharge.

Our clinic has many of the same tools as a full-service veterinary hospital including three surgical suites, ultrasound, digital radiography, in-house blood work, and options for referral of advance cases.

We are seeking new graduates that would like to expand their knowledge of shelter medicine and seasoned practitioners that would like to share their knowledge.

A nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, The Animal Foundation of Las Vegas, was founded in 1978 as a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, is now the highest volume single-site animal shelter in America.

Much like a public hospital, as an open-admission shelter, The Animal Foundation takes in every animal who comes to us in need, no matter how sick or injured.

From the expected dogs, cats and rabbits to pigs, chickens and exotic animals we serve them all. Just like a hospital, we can't save them all.

What we can do, with the support of the community is save every healthy and treatable animal who comes to us in need.

Position Summary :

Under administrative direction, responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care of shelter and / or

client-owned animals, shelter medicine, spay / neuter surgeries, and disease control protocols. Some

positions may require an emphasis on high-volume spay and neuter surgery, and others may require

emphasis on duties related to shelter medicine and herd health.
