Whatwould you be doing
As a key partof the team your responsibilities will be varied but likely toinclude :
- Work closely with clientsarchitects and other companies Engineers and / or design team membersas part of a dedicated and skilled team
- Producecoordinated detailed design drawings electronic modelsspecifications written reports site observation reports schedulesetc.
on a variety of projects within the electrical discipline aswell as the coordination with utility companies and obtaining thenecessary electrical permit approvals from PlanCheck
- Organize technical and financialproposals for new work
- Manage workload ofProject Discipline Engineers and Technicians (includingverification of quality).
- Take responsibilityfor concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detaildesign
- Prepare TechnicalSpecifications
- Monitor financial performance ofjobs
- Keep senior staff informed of importantand relevant service / design decisions and the objectives of theclient are achieved
- Mentor junior ElectricalEngineers
- Continually ensure practices policiesstrategy and services represent the clients best interests and thatBuro Happold policy is in keeping with current legislation and therelevant building codes for the relevant stateetc
- Plan organize and manage personal workloadin order to meet deadlines in line with clientcommitments
- Proactively raise concernsregarding workload and ability to meetdeadlines
- Maintain an overview of the projectteams workload and commitments in order to successfully meetdeadlines and balance resourceutilization
- Actively contribute towardsdelivering profitable projects in the context of projectfinances
- Monitor financial performance of jobswith the setting up and managing of job / project administrativesystems including planning and monitoring jobresourcing / expenditure (adjusting these asnecessary).
What are welooking for
- 8 yearsexperience of electrical engineering design in the buildingservices and construction industry
- Experienceworking on projects in the following sectors is preferred : HigherEducation Museums Commercial Transportation Hubs and / orStadiums
- Relevant bachelor or mastersdegree
- Professional Engineer (P.E.)desirable
- LEED AP accreditedpreferred
- Experience usingRevit
- Familiarity using computational analysistools such as electrical fault analysis and lighting designsoftware
- Ability to accept a high degree ofresponsibility in a teambased organization combined with ability towork independently
- Excellent technicalknowledge of electrical systems; ability to investigate identifyand provide solutions to technicalproblems
- Excellent clientfacing andcommunication skills (verbal and written) with experiencepresenting (you will often be required to present solutionsdirectly to csuite levelstakeholders)
- Experience in the preparation oftechnical reports for delivery direct to a clientaudience
- Ability to problem solve and proposemultiple solutions to Clients and objectively summarize thebenefits and shortfalls ofeach
