Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position with a 1 : 7 patient ratio and floating requirements.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unit with Ortho and Spine patient population
  • Night shifts available as 3x12 or 4x12 schedules from 18 : 30 to 07 : 00
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating to other units is required
  • No call responsibilities
  • General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online computer-based learning modules
  • There are 16 hours of non-billable orientation, including 4-5 hours of modules
  • Contract RNs are expected to support and educate nursing students alongside clinical care duties
  • Hospital reserves the right to cancel or call off one shift biweekly due to census fluctuations
  • Holiday coverage may be required based on scheduling
  • Candidates should have no prior engagements during the 12-14 days before the start date to allow for required drug testing
  • No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius

  • Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent MS / Tele and Med / Surg experience required
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
  • First time travelers are accepted
  • Must be able to complete drug testing 12-14 days prior to start and return for repeat testing if needed
  • Must be willing to trim or remove facial hair for fit testing per CDC guidelines
