The Staff Accountant, Tax is responsible for preparation of tax calculations, supporting workpapers, tax returns and filings prepared in-house, tax account reconciliations, internal memos and documentation, and correspondence with taxing authorities. This position receives guidance with respect to work product and operates within finance, accounting, and tax department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives and is responsible for ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position is primarily focused on income taxes and tax accounting, working within the shared tax team and with finance / accounting teams to accumulate data and achieve tight deadlines.

Prepare calculations and workpapers in support of federal tax provision and tax returns (e.g., prepaids, accruals, permanent adjustments, interest)

Prepare calculations and workpapers related to tax planning projects (software development, E&P, FDDEI, basis, attribute utilization, etc.)

Assist with preparation of annual and monthly tax provision calculations

Assist with tax accounting workstreams (e.g., tax account analysis, reconciliation of GL tax accounts, and tax journal entries)

Maintain tax depreciation schedules utilizing Bloomberg Fixed Asset software

Support tax forecasting and budgeting efforts

Conduct federal tax research and draft internal memoranda and processes

Prepare reports, filings, support, and correspondence for other reporting and tax types (e.g., Federal excise tax, Census reporting, 1099 reporting, US residency certificates, etc.)

Support and prepare calculations and workpapers related to international taxes - US reporting obligations related to foreign subsidiaries, foreign tax returns / filings (income and VAT), etc.

Assist with documentation of standard operating procedures for tax workstreams

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and / or Finance

CPA or Masters in Taxation a plus

Minimum 1-2 years relevant tax experience with public accounting firm or corporate tax department

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experience with Alteryx, Snowflake, Bloomberg Fixed Assets, and tax research software a plus

Strong critical thinking, time management, organization, and communication skills
