The School of Engineering anticipates hiring multiple Readers in the following disciplines in the 2024-2025 Academic Year (Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025) :
Bioengineering
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Computer Science and Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Materials Science and Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Management of Complex Systems
Other disciplines that teach engineering courses

The Reader will be responsible for grading homework, quizzes, exams as needed under the supervisor of the instructor. The position will require up to a maximum of 18 hours per week.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
The Reader will be in good standing at UC Merced and have successfully completed course or related course he / she is appointed to as a Reader with a grade of "B" or better, as well as a 3.
0 overall grade point average (gpa). Readers will usually be graduate students; but qualified undergraduate students may be employed, especially when graduate students are not available.
Professional readers, not enrolled as students, may be employed to meet special needs, but only on an hourly basis.
